So we finally saw Secret Invasion‘s second episode, and I know this is all over the nerd sites but we wait until after we see it to go looking for what other people are saying… honestly, no we don’t. If the whole fam is watching, we just go to bed because we watch it at night. But if it’s just me and Walker, or Meems is keeping us company on the couch because she loves us but doesn’t really care about who US Agent is or whatever, the boys will immediately queue up Screen Crush and watch all the Easter Eggs we caught and a couple we missed.
But while everybody and their mother caught the Super Skrull references and of course no one expects a literal translation of the Fantastic Four’s powers before their movie comes out in the 24th century or whatever… but only my kid said how they transliterate:
“Groot gives you Reed’s stretchy powers, Cull Obsidian gives you clobberin’ time. Extremis is obviously Human Torch so that leaves… invisibility? The Frost Giant brings ice… which is clear! That’s just action figure logic, Daddy.”
That’s some Nerd Pulitzer reasoning, there.
But that ep ender? They showed Fury’s missus was a Skrull cooking breakfast and changed when Fury walked in. I would be happy if Fury was a Skrull because he is 100% out of character and this SHIELD agent does not believe for a hot second that I‘M NICK FURY, MOTHERFUCKER! EVEN WHEN I’M OUT, I’M IN! then goes to a park bench and silently weeps for all the heaviness in existence.
I mean, Nick’s a Skrull, too.
